Why is the company named Sahale Snacks?
Edmond and Josh named the company after Sahale Peak, near the Cascade Pass in the North Cascades National Park in Washington. It’s a beautiful peak with a cool glacier and great views.
What does “Sahale” mean?
It is a Northwest Native American word that has a variety of derivations and meanings – like falcon, sacred, and high lofty place. We just like the name and sound of Sahale, and of course the mountain peak.
What’s with the names of your Nut Blends –Valdosta and Sing Buri?
Each Blend is evocative of a unique part of the world or great culinary tradition. So, for instance, our award winning Valdosta Blend, our Southern Pecan Blend, is inspired by Valdosta, Georgia, a place where Edmond and Josh spent time early in their careers when they were TV reporters in Savannah, Georgia.
Our Sing Buri Blend is named for a province in Thailand, and offers all the complexities of an Asian inspired meal with notes of lemongrass, ponzu, sake, and a smoky, mild Chinese chili. Edmond and Josh have long been gigantic fans of all types of Asian cooking.

Nuts contain no trans-fats and are typically low in saturated fats and high in good-for-you polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats.
What about if I am watching my cholesterol?
Most tree nuts contain no cholesterol, and are a great source of minerals and nutrients. In fact, tree nuts are full of a compound known as sterol, which has been shown to help reduce cholesterol.
Can adding nuts to my diet improve my heart health?
According to the Food and Drug Administration, eating 1.5 ounces per day of most nuts, as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease.

What is unique about Sahale Snacks that make them healthier than your typical nut mixes?
Sahale Snacks selects only the highest quality ingredients when creating our premium nut blends. To add sweetness to our blends, we use organic tapioca syrup and organic cane sugar that serve as an alternative to corn syrup, or other highly processed sweeteners. We don’t use artificial preservatives or flavorings to make our gourmet snacks and we only use unsulfured fruits in our products. Also, while some nuts are actually cooked in vats of oil, Sahale Snacks are carefully dry roasted in ovens.
